Setanta Sports

Setanta Sports won the rights to air 46 live Premier League football matches this season, taking away Sky’s exclusivity for the first time in 13 years and opening up the football season to competition. This means that customers now have more viewing and pricing options and those not wanting to sign up with Sky can still watch some live matches.

If you’re a sports fanatic and want to watch over 1,000 hours of live sports a month, without having to subscribe to a big digital TV package, full of channels you don’t want or need, then maybe Setanta is the answer for you.

Visit www.Setanta.com for more information.

What is it?

Setanta offers nine channels dedicated to sports covering everything from golf to horse racing to North American sports and even a channel devoted to the Rangers football team as well as more mainstream tastes.

How do I get it?

Setanta Sports is available via cable, satellite, a Freeview box and you can even watch online. Deals are also available for BT Vision, Virgin Media and Tiscali TV customers.

How much does it cost?

Setanta costs £9.99 a month and they also have a variety of special offers so make sure you check their website before signing up as you could get a couple of months at a cheaper price, or even for free.

If you already have a digital TV subscription or are thinking of getting one, you should also check to see if you can get a discount through your current supplier. BT Vision customers can add Setanta to their Sport package (normally £4 a month), for a total of £12 a month, brining you BT Vision’s 242 delayed Premier League matches, plus everything from Setanta in the Total Sports package.

Virgin Media customers can also get discounts on Setanta Sports and those on the Size:XL package now get Setanta for free.

Setanta has recently signed a deal with Tiscali TV too, so those living in a Tiscali TV area should check out the special offers available.

Is Setanta for me?

Setanta offers live coverage of 46 Premier League matches, the UEFA Cup, World Cup Qualifiers, Scottish Premier League, and European Club matches as well as exclusive boxing matches and more obscure leagues. They also have great online offers that you should look out for, such as money off, three months free and not having to agree to a 12 month contract. If you love your sports then Setanta is fast becoming a must-have, though one drawback is that not all Premiership matches are shown.
