Customers with Tiscali TV will now receive TalkTalk TV - the new internet digital television service from broadband and home phone provider TalkTalk.

TalkTalk ( www.talktalk.co.uk/tv ), one of the UK’s largest broadband and home phone companies, has renamed the Tiscali internet TV service TalkTalk TV, following its acquisition of the Tiscali company last year.

All of Tiscali’s services, including its broadband and TV platform, have been brought under the TalkTalk umbrella and the Tiscali brand will no longer be used.

A Tiscali spokesperson said that there would be “no change” to the existing TV service as a result of the rebrand. The Tiscali TV website has already been renamed TalkTalk TV.

For many customers this will mean a reduction in their monthly bills...

Charles Dunstone, chief executive of TalkTalk’s parent company Carphone Warehouse, said: “Today we welcome all Tiscali customers to TalkTalk and open the doors to a new portal.”

“We’re committed to giving all of our customers absolute clarity about who we are, the services we provide and the prices we charge,” he continued. “We want to make it very clear that being part of TalkTalk is much more than just having a different logo on the top of your bill.”

TalkTalk is now in the process of reviewing its prices, and it has already begun to contact Tiscali customers about changes to their packages and tariffs. Existing Tiscali broadband and home phone customers will be switched over to the TalkTalk network within the next 12 months.

Dunstone said: “We’ve reviewed all of the pricing tariffs and can say from today that if you’re with TalkTalk you’re getting the same value as your fellow customers. For many of our customers this will mean a reduction in their monthly bills, others will see no change with the remainder getting a small increase.”

Broadbandchoices.co.uk revealed last month that the switch to TalkTalk could cost some Tiscali broadband customers an extra £60 a year if they decide not to switch their home phone service to TalkTalk.
