Charlie’s Angels and Starsky and Hutch are just some of the classic shows now available on-demand to BT Vision households now.

BT Vision (www.bt.vision.co.uk), the TV service offered by telecoms giant BT, has signed a deal with Sony Pictures Television (SPT) to bring customers two new on-demand TV channels featuring classic Sony programmes.

Sony Entertainment Television is now available for the first time in the UK exclusively through BT Vision, and offers viewers top US dramas such as Damages and The Shield, as well as the Henry VIII epic, The Tudors.

Shows on both channels can now be enjoyed...

BT also launched the Sony Retro channel this week, which shows much-loved US classic programmes from the 70s and 80s, including Gary Coleman’s Diff’rent Strokes and the original Charlie’s Angels starring Kate Jackson, Farrah Fawcett and Jaclyn Smith.

Marc Watson, chief executive of television at BT retail, said: “Sony Pictures Television is a global entertainment powerhouse and the addition of its branded services, featuring award-winning US series and classic favourites, helps deliver yet more fantastic viewing to our customers.”

Shows on both channels can now be enjoyed on-demand either through a monthly subscription costing £6.99 a month, or on a pay-per-view basis, with prices starting from 99p.

As well as the drama and comedy available on both the new channels, SPT provides a range of current and classic films on BT Vision. Sony Entertainment Television is already a well-known channel, airing in 95 million households across 103 countries worldwide.
