Digital switchover - When will I switch?

Starting in 2008, the UK will begin its digital TV switchover. Analogue signals will be gradually switched off and your house will receive a digital signal, carrying many more channels, instead. This is a process that a number of other countries are also going through since the digital signal is better and more economical that the old system that has been running for 80 years. The analogue signal will be switched off according to ITV region - the whole of the UK won’t be switching at the same time - and this process will start in 2008 with the Border region and end in 2012 with the Meridian, London, Tyne Tees, Ulster regions.
