TV fans can now ‘rent’ full-length episodes and entire series of their favourite shows for 30 days via the online on-demand TV service SeeSaw.

SeeSaw (www.seesaw.com), a free online TV website, is now offering customers a premium service with over 1,000 hours of paid-for programmes, such as Gavin and Stacey, Fawlty Towers and Planet Earth, that can be rented from 99p per episode.

Previously, when the site launched in February, SeeSaw only offered free catch-up on-demand TV programmes from the BBC, Channel 4 and Five, with advertising before each episode.

SeeSaw now gives customers more content on top of the free content

The new premium service however, gives customers more content on top of the free content, from broadcasters like Comedy Central, BBC Worldwide and MTV.

Jon Ingram, operations director at Digitalchoices.co.uk, said: “SeeSaw is a great free TV service, which has received a boost with the pay-as-you-go content. Fans of series like Lost and The Hills are now able to ‘rent’ complete series for as little as £3.99.”

Full series cost between £3.99 and £17.99, depending on how many episodes there are and how recent the programme is. Individual shows can be rented for 30 days, and must be watched within 48 hours once started; however series can be rented for 90 days.

“SeeSaw aims to be a ‘one-stop shop’ for online TV programming,” added Ingram. The service has plans to increase the amount of content on offer to over 5,000 hours in the coming months.

“SeeSaw is also looking at moving onto other platforms, so we may soon see the service on Xbox 360s and TV screens.”
