UK's biggest indoor equestrian event to be shown in 3D for the first time this weekend
This year’s Horse of the Year Show will be aired in 3D for the first time this weekend.
The Sky 3D channel will broadcast exclusive coverage of the UK's biggest indoor equestrian event, which starts tomorrow and runs until the end of the week, this Saturday and Sunday evening.
The coverage will include highlights of the National Show Jumping Championships, dressage competitions and puissance - a showjumping high jump competition.
John Cassy, director of Sky 3D, said: "'Horse of the Year Show' in 3D will give audiences a totally fresh perspective on the art of showjumping.It will give viewers a greater sense of the incredible skill and control the riders need to win this event than ever before."
Sky has worked together with the show’s organisers to “maximise the viewing experience in 3D” by using the colour and detail of the jumps to achieve the best possible experience for viewers.
Iain Graham, chief executive of British Showjumping, the governing body of showjumpingin Britain, said: "Screening the event in 3D is a wonderful occasion for the sport and a fantastic opportunity for viewers to witness this prestigious event."
The Sky 3D Channel coverage of Horse of the Year 2011 will begin at 8.30pm on Saturday and 8pm on Sunday. The coverage will be simultaneously broadcast in high-definition (HD) on Sky Sports HD4.
New customers wanting to sign-up to Sky 3D need to get Sky World - all of Sky’s channels including its entertainment, movies and sports packages - and it’s HD package, and will also need a 3D-ready TV and 3D glasses.
Existing Sky customers with a 3D-ready TV can access to the Sky 3D Channel by upgrading their box to a Sky+HD box and their package to Sky World HD.
