Sky brings 3D fish flinging in new safari park series

Ever wanted to get up close and personal at an elephant pedicure?

If you are one of the many people wondering just what an elephant pedicure might involve, wonder no more - you are about to be able to witness every last toenail clipping in 3D glory.

Sky 3D’s new series, Safari Park Adventure 3D will take you behind the scenes of Woburn Safari Park revealing the drama, emotion and care involved in safari park life.

Viewers will get up close and personal at a penguin food fight - from the comfort of your living room, which is no bad thing given the fish-flinging going on - and watch as Otzee, chief rhino, makes his displeasure at the arrival of a noisy new playmate pretty clear.

The ten-part series Safari Park Adventure3D airs at 9pm on Sky 3D starting on 4 February, with a 2D version showing on Animal Planet at the same time.

3D cameras capture the daily lives of some of the world’s most endangered wildlife, and highlight the lengths the keepers have to go to care for their charges and protect the welfare and safety of both wild residents and humans alike.

John Cassy, Sky 3D’s channel director said: “Woburn offers an inspiring array of some of the world’s most endangered wildlife and each animal has its own distinct personality. 3D filming techniques enable their stories to be brought to life in a way that was never before possible.”

The owner of Woburn Safari Park, the Duke of Bedford, added: “It’s a fantastic chance for everyone to go behind the scenes and see the hard work and dedication of our team of keepers.”

Sky 3D is available to all Sky+HD viewers with a 3D TV. Other popular shows on the channel include David Attenborough’s BAFTA winning Flying Monsters, Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake and The Masters.
