Freesat has extended its digital lineup with the Argos TV shopping channel, just in time for Christmas
The subscription-free satellite TV service Freesat has added the Argos TV shopping channel to its existing choice of more than 150 channels.
Viewers can make an early start on their Christmas shopping, with access to all the big name brands and great value deals on Freesat channel 819.
Head of channels Mark Briggs said Freesat was “delighted” to offer its customers an easy way to save money or find the perfect gift.
Darren Frost, head of Argos TV, added: “It gives us the opportunity to reach substantially more customers with another way to explore and shop the Argos range. Viewers will be able to watch the same shows at the same time that they are available elsewhere, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.”
Argos TV will expand Freesat’s wide range of shopping channels, with live demonstrations giving shoppers the chance to experience new products before they decide to buy.
This follows the recent announcement that Freesat has passed the two million customer mark. Research found that almost half the new users it gained in the past year had previously been paying for a Sky superscription.
Freesat is is similar to Freeview but offers a broader selection of channels, but, like review, there is no monthly fee and no contract to sign.
To get started, you will need a set-top box or TV with a built-in decoder, as well as a satellite dish fitted to the outside of your home. However, you may need to get permission to do this if your property is a listed building or rented.
