Footy fans looking for a pub in their area showing their team’s latest fixtures in 3D can now use the Sky 3D Pub Finder online.
Sky (www.sky.co.uk), the UK’s biggest satellite TV provider, kicked off the launch of its dedicated 3D TV channel showing a clash Premier League titans Manchester Utd and Chelsea in 3D on Saturday 3 April.
Over a thousand pubs and clubs were showing the match in 3D, where supporters witnessed Chelsea defeat Man Utd 2-1 at Old Trafford.
To help fans find a venue in their area showing the new 3D TV channel, Sky has created an online pub finder at www.sky.com/3Dpubs.
Sky’s TV installers have kitted out over a thousand pubs and clubs with 3D TVs and 3D glasses already, though new venues are being added to the online pub finder everyday, and further pubs are expected to sign-up before the end of the season.
Following last Saturday’s game, Sky will show at least a further five Premier League games - to be announced - before the end of the current season on Sunday 9 May, as well as the Coca-Cola Football League Play-Off Finals from Wembley Stadium at the end of May, all live in 3D.
Jon Ingram, operations director at Digitalchoices.co.uk, said: “It’s great to see so many venues signing up to show 3D TV from Sky, bringing 3D football to many fans. If you haven’t yet experienced 3D TV, use the online 3D Pub Finder to find a venue near you and when the match is being shown.”
