Scart

Cabling used to carry TV and video signals. Connects the audio and picture in high quality using a 21-pin plug.

Set-top aerial

Spectrum

The set of radio frequencies carrying television, radio and other forms of electronic communication via the electromagnetic spectrum.

STB

Set-top box. Very occasionally referred to as an adaptor.

Switchover

The process of switching off the old analogue signal as the country moves to digital instead. The switchover starts in 2008 with the Border TV region and ends in 2012 with the last four TV regions of Meridian, London, Tyne Tees, Ulster.
