TalkTalk TV, formerly Tiscali TV, offers a triple play of products, allowing you to bundle digital TV, broadband and home phone. (Updated 08/01/10)

What is TalkTalk TV?

TalkTalk TV (www.talktalk.co.uk/tv) works in exactly the same way as Tiscali TV did, delivering digital TV over your telephone line internet connection. Digital TV delivered in this way is known as internet protocol TV, or IPTV, and is the same technology used by BT to deliver its BT Vision (www.bt.vision.co.uk) digital TV service.

You can only get TalkTalk TV if you take a bundle including its broadband and home phone, and prices start from £15.22 a month, plus line rental at £11.49 a month.

Also, like Tiscali TV, TalkTalk TV is only available in certain areas.

Which TalkTalk TV package?

TalkTalk TV has two different packages on offer; Evening & Weekend for £15.22 a month, and Anytime for £19.22 a month, plus line rental.

Both come with the TV Variety pack, over 70 of the best digital channels including Sky 1, Sky Sports News and Comedy Central as well as a free seven day catch-up on popular BBC, Channel 4 & FX shows.

You also get on-demand TV, with instant access to over 350 programmes and films from just £1.99.

You can add Sky Movies, Sky Sports & ESPN from just £9.99 a month.

The TalkTalk broadband service

On top of your TV package, you will also get 8Mb broadband with a 40GB download allowance and a free wireless router.

TalkTalk also offers a high-end broadband package, TalkTalk Pro, which comes with 24Mb broadband and a massive 80GB download allowance. However, this package is not available as part of a TalkTalk TV bundle.

TalkTalk calls and line rental

Your calls package will depend on whether you choose the Evening & Weekend bundle - which comes with inclusive evening and weekend calls to UK landlines and 10 international destinations - or the Anytime bundle - which offers anytime calls to UK landlines and 10 international destinations.

You will also have to pay £11.49 a month line rental to TalkTalk on top of the cost of your digital TV package.

Each day the TV screen shows the message "session timed out" sometimes this will occur on two occaisions daily. We have also experienced the problem of the set top box going totally dead, after switching of both the top set box and router we were able to retrieve TV channels, is this normal or is the failure connected to a faulty set top box?

I have long been a Tiscali Max Unlimited customer and was rather annoyed that I'd had no notification of the change to TalkTalk - I only discovered it via my TV screen. Since becoming TalkTalk I have had nothing but trouble trying to watch TV programmes via Tiscali/TalkTalk. Over the past 4 weeks I have only been able to access catch up TV on 2 occasions and when I did, I had to restart a one hour programme 6 times in order to watch all of it because it kept 'freezing'. As I work long hours catch up TV is the only way I have of watching chosen programmes. Even when I try to watch ordinary TV channels via the system, they cut out midway through programmes. I received no notification that things had changed with the systen so don't know if any of my equipment or settings should have been altered. I am actually paying for something which I don't have. Please can this be sorted out immediately or I will have no choice but to change providers. Thank you - Feb 24 2010 2:34PM
