Tiscali TV

Tiscali TV was rebranded as TalkTalk TV on 7 January 2010, following TalkTalk's acquisition of Tiscali. TalkTalk now offers a triple-play of products, bundling broadband, home phone and digital TV, all through your phone line. (Updated 11/1/10).

What is Tiscali TV?

Tiscali TV, formerly HomeChoice, is an internet digital TV service available through your home phone line.

TV through broadband such as this is known as internet protocol TV (IPTV), and is also offered by BT Vision. It sends a digital signal over your broadband connection to your TV set.

You can only get Tiscali TV if you live in a certain area, and only if you take its broadband and home phone packages as well.

Packages and bundles start at £19.99 a month and you can then add extras from £5 a month up to £31.50 a month. You can mix and match which packages you want to subscribe to, from their PictureBox package showing up to 28 movies a month, to the V:MX Music Pack or even Sony TV Asia. There are also online offers available to save you money.

Why should I get Tiscali TV?

If you live in an area where Tiscali has unbundled exchanges and offers digital TV, you can get all three services, plus your line rental for a total price of £19.99 a month.

Tiscali TV offers two digital TV bundle packages, with video-on-demand, a variety of channels and over 1,000 pay-per-view movies. Customers also get Sky’s basic channels included at no extra cost.

For customers who are too busy to watch their favourite shows every evening, Tiscali TV’s seven day Catch-Up service, keeps a selection of programmes from across the BBC channels, Channel 4, E4 and FX for a week after they’ve been broadcast.

And for a little extra each month, Tiscali TV subscribers can add viewing packs to their service, including Entertainment Xtra Mix, PictureBox and Sky Sports.

Viewers can also access more than 4,000 music videos on-demand, or even create their own playlists.

Customers who sign up to the Kids TV Pack (which costs extra) will receive a unique Minimote - a remote control designed just for children, it’s pre-programmed to only allow them access to children’s programmes.

What do I need for Tiscali TV?

Tiscali TV is currently only available in a limited portion of the country. You will need to take Tiscali’s phone and broadband services to be able to receive Tiscali TV.

When you sign-up, a Tiscali engineer will visit your home to install the necessary hardware, which will allow you to record any programming that isn’t part of its on-demand service.
