Hello Jon, I’ve just got my new TiVo box through from Virgin Media and it’s great - it’s really easy to use and has all the on-demand stuff that the family has grown to love with V+HD.
The other day we noticed there is a new WishList search feature in the planner menu - what is this and how do we use it?

Glad to hear you’re enjoying your new Virgin Media TiVo set-top box - you’re one of the lucky few customers that have managed to get their hands on a TiVo box.
The WishList feature on TiVo is just one of a number of new additions to the Virgin Media set-top box, which the cable TV giant says will “revolutionise your viewing experience”. A TiVo WishList lets you programme the set-top box to automatically record every show, film or music video that features a chosen topic, director or actor.
Below is some more information about the TiVo WishList feature, and some handy tips on how to set it up…
If you’re a huge Leonardo DiCaprio film fan and never want to miss a movie, or an avid cook wanting to learn new recipes from your favourite chefs, setting up a TiVo WishList will make sure you never miss a minute of your favourite topic, actor or show.
Simply type in what you want to watch, and hit save. You can set-up a WishList for a particular actor or celeb, a director or composer, a genre or an object, from Arctic Monkeys to zebras - whatever takes your fancy.
Then, if something comes up that fits with your selection, it’ll be saved for you, automatically - whether it’s on tonight, next month or even next year.
Cable TV giant Virgin Media (www.virginmedia.com) has launched its new set-top box, powered by the manufacturer TiVo. TiVo is a personal video recorder (PVR), similar to the Sky+HD box or Virgin Media’s V+ HD box, which lets you pause, rewind, fast forward and record TV at the touch of a button.
What makes it different from other set-top boxes is that TiVo is internet-enabled. This means you can access a whole host of internet TV content, including programmes on the BBC iPlayer and YouTube clips.
For more information on what the set-top box has to offer, read our guide to Virgin Media TiVo.
