TV fans with Freesat are getting one of their Christmas presents early.
A range of popular channels have been added to the subscription-free satellite service, giving UK families even more choice, with a diverse selection of hit shows including Sex and the City, CSI New York and Malcolm in the Middle.
Freesat households now have access to five additional Channel 5 services, Channel 5 + 1, 5USA, 5USA + 1, 5* and 5* + 1, which offer great entertainment as well as extra flexibility through the addition of three timeshift channels.
Emma Scott, managing director of Freesat, said: “These additions further strengthen our entertainment genre as we continue to bring greater subscription-free choice to audiences right across the UK.”
Director of programmes, Jeff Ford, said Channel 5 was “extremely proud” of how its services are evolving. He continued: “The addition of Channel 5 + 1, 5* + 1 and 5USA + 1 will no doubt be welcomed by viewers wanting another means to keep up with their favourite shows.”
Freesat viewers will be able to watch some of the best comedy, sport, classic American action movies and popular dramas on 5USA, including CSI New York, Numbers and Law and Order.
Meanwhile, the arrival of 5* to the service brings a range of great soaps, films, entertainment, drama and documentary programmes, such as Alphas, Malcolm in the Middle, and Sex and the City.
The timeshift services Channel 5 + 1, 5USA + 1 and 5* + 1 mean viewers can watch shows an hour after they’re broadcast. Available now, the additions can be found on Freesat channels 128 to 132.
