Do you love police dramas, high-speed car chases and non-stop action? Then Sky Atlantic’s new action-packed series Blue Bloods is the show for you. Read on to find out how to watch every episode…

Starring Golden Globe winner Tom Selleck, who’s moustache is as famous as his role in Magnum: PI, and Saw actor Donnie Wahlberg, Blue Bloods promises to be more than just another US cop show.

Blue Bloods follows a New York family committed to law enforcement

The series is centred around the Reagans, a New York family committed to law enforcement, and follows their struggle to deal with living and working so closely together.

You can watch every episode of Blue Bloods in standard definition on Sky Atlantic, and in super sharp high-definition (HD) on Sky Atlantic HD. Read on to find out how you can get Sky Atlantic and start watching the Reagan family protecting the citizens of New York…

Blue Bloods: what’s it about?

Set in New York City, Blue Bloods is a fast-paced police drama that follows the story of a multi-generational family of cops dedicated to upholding the law.

Selleck stars as Frank Reagan, the New York Chief of Police and patriarch of the Reagan brood. Frank treats his family with as much diplomacy as the criminals he locks up.

Episode one sees Frank’s youngest son and the family’s “golden boy”, Jamie (played by Will Estes), decide to give up a lucrative future in law to follow in his father’s footsteps, unable to deny the family tradition of enrolling with the police force. Fresh out of Harvard Law, Jamie is now a newly minted cop, joining elder brother Danny (Whalberg), his father and his grandfather.

What channel is Blue Bloods on?

Blue Bloods is exclusive to Sky (www.sky.co.uk), showing on the satellite TV giant’s new channel, Sky Atlantic, in both standard and high-definition.

After Sky signed a deal with American TV production company HBO, Sky launched the channel as the new home to some of HBO’s biggest series, including The Sopranos, Mad Men and Boardwalk Empire, as well as CBS show Blue Bloods.

Sky Atlantic launched on 1 February and is only available to Sky TV customers. So, if you’re a Virgin Media, BT Vision or Freeview home, and a fan of the high-quality drama shown on the channel, it’s worth considering a switch to Sky.

When is Blue Bloods on?

New episodes of Blue Bloods are shown every Tuesday at 10pm, on Sky Atlantic and Sky Atlantic HD - the high-definition simulcast of Sky Living. If you miss its first broadcast, there are repeats on Saturdays at 10.10pm, or you can set it to record using your Sky+HD box.

For customers that take an all-in-one Sky TV, phone and broadband package, you can also watch new and past episodes of Blue Bloods on Sky Anytime+ - the on-demand TV catch-up service from Sky.

And, if you’re always on the go, set-up your laptop, tablet or smartphone with the Sky Player app, so you never miss an episode of Blue Bloods. Log in using your Sky customer ID and your password and you’ll have access to over 1,000 hours of on-demand and catch-up TV (available content will depend on your Sky subscription).

Switch your digital TV service

If you loved Magnum: PI and CSI, then Blue Bloods will be right up your street. Because Sky Atlantic is exclusive to Sky however, to watch it you’ll need to sign-up for a subscription TV package from Sky.

Not only will this give you access to all the shows on Sky Atlantic, but you’ll also have access to many more channels in either standard or high-definition, including Sky Living and Sky1.

Before signing up for a Sky package though, you should compare digital TV packages using the postcode checker on Digitalchoices.co.uk - you may find a cheaper deal with another provider. Blue Bloods is only being shown on Sky Atlantic for now though, so if you choose a TV service other than Sky you will unfortunately have to wait for the show to be released on DVD before you can watch it.
