Tiscali TV customers will soon be able to watch pay-per-view high-definition films, including the UK television premiere of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.
Tiscali TV (www.tiscali.co.uk), the television service from broadband and home phone provider Tiscali, is launching the high-definition (HD) service this week and it’ll be available to all customers with a Tiscali+ set-top box.
Recently released HD films will be available on a pay-per-view basis, and will cost £4.95, while older films in HD will be £2.99 each.
Movies that will be available on-demand include the UK TV premiere of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, as well as the five previous Harry Potter films.
Jon Ingram, operations director at Digitalchoices.co.uk, said: “Tiscali have upped the high-definition ante with this new on-demand offering, and it’s great news for customers who previously have not had any HD content available.”
The films will also be available in standard definition (SD) and will cost £3.99 for new releases and £1.99 for older movies.
Tiscali is also offering customers that start new subscriptions a free Tiscali+ digital recorder worth £100 until 31 December.
