Sky Movies now available on Sky Go for mobiles and tablets

Subscribers can watch on their iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch.

Film fans are being given “ultimate control” over how and when they watch the latest blockbusters. Sky Movies is now available live and on-demand on mobiles and tablets, as well as just on TV and the internet.

With the launch of a movies on-demand service on the Sky Go app for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, millions of Sky TV customers have access to hundreds of movies to enjoy whenever and wherever they want - at no additional cost.

Anyone with a compatible Apple device, who subscribes to a Sky Movies TV package, can stream full-length films via a WiFi connection, though 3G support will be introduced by the end of December.

New releases available through Sky Go over the coming weeks include: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1, Little Fockers, Black Swan, Gulliver’s Travels and Limitless.

Ian Lewis, director of Sky Movies, said: “Sky Movies on demand is a great addition to Sky Go and gives customers complete control over how, when and now where they enjoy the latest movies.

“Whether customers want to kick back at home and watch the latest movies in widescreen 3D or HD, catch a movie on the laptop while on holiday or at the office, or watch a blockbuster out and about on their phone or tablet, we’ve got it covered.”

The Sky Go app is available for free to Sky customers from the App Store on iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. In 2012, the platform will also launch on handsets powered by Google’s Android operating system.

Earlier this month, Sky also released a dedicated Sky Movies app for Apple devices, offering listings for films currently being show on Sky Movies and at cinemas, as well as trailers and the option to record movies via Sky+ remote record.
