Sky homes get free Sky Player access

Fancy watching Sky1 and Sky Sports on your laptop wherever you are? Sky subscribers can now log on to the Sky Player and watch their favourite shows online for free.

Satellite TV giant Sky’s (www.sky.co.uk)’s online TV service, the Sky Player (www.skyplayer.com), will be available for free to all Sky TV subscribers for the next two months.

Viewers can watch up to 30 live channels online, anywhere in the UK and Republic of Ireland, for free until Monday 14 June.

Customers with a subscription to the Sky Sports channels can watch the latest action from the Barclays Premier League, the UEFA Champions League final and the forthcoming Heineken Cup and ATP Masters all live, online.

Jon Ingram, operations director at Digitalchoices.co.uk, said: “If you’re a Sky TV customer and you’re out and about, Sky’s online TV service lets you watch your favourite TV shows and live sports anywhere in the country - just sign in using your Sky ID to start watching.”

The Sky Player has 30 live-streamed TV channels spanning sports, movies and entertainment from leading channels, including Sky1, Sky Sports 1, 2, 3 and 4, Nat Geo Wild, Sky Arts 1, ESPN, Disney Channel, and MTV.

Users can also keep up with all their favourite shows on Sky1, such as Pineapple Dance Studios, Lost, 24 and House, as they’re broadcast.

The two-month free offer is available to all Sky TV customers, in line with their existing Sky TV subscription. Previously only Sky Multiroom, Sky Broadband Unlimited or customers with a Sky Player multiroom subscription could access live channels on the Sky Player.

The Sky Player is currently available to watch online on PCs and Macs through Windows Media Center, on the Xbox 360 and on Fetch TV.
