People using the Sky Player online will soon have the choice of three extra channels to watch, offering programmes like 24 and Lost, as well as blockbuster movies.

Satellite TV giant Sky (www.sky.co.uk) has confirmed plans to add three new channels to its online TV service the Sky Player, bringing the total number of channels to 30.

The Sky Player (www.skyplayer.com) offers users access to a range of live and on-demand TV programmes. Existing Sky customers can watch content for free, while non-Sky customers can subscribe to Sky Player TV packs to watch live TV channels and a selection of programmes on-demand, from just £15 a month.

Sky Player offers an unrivalled choice of live and on-demand TV

The service also broadcasts over 500 movies to watch online at anytime, as well as live sport from Sky Sports, ESPN and Eurosport.

Griff Parry, Sky’s director of on-demand TV, said: “Sky Player offers an unrivalled choice of live and on-demand pay TV content, making it the natural destination for online viewing.”

Sky1 is now live on the Sky Player, and users can watch episodes of Lost and 24 that are being streamed live on the channel.

For movie lovers, two new film channels - Sky Movies Premiere and Sky Movies Showcase - will go live later this month.

“The Sky Player is about providing people with the most convenient way to access the channels and programmes they enjoy,” added Parry.

The digital TV provider has also said programmes from the Living and Bravo channels will be made available later in the year.

Sky Player is available over the internet on PCs, Macs and Windows 7 via the Windows Media Center, as well as on the Xbox 360 to gamers with an Xbox LIVE gold membership.
