Football fans looking for the cheapest way to watch the Premier League can now get Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 2 from BT Vision for just £16.99 a month.

BT Vision (www.bt.vision.co.uk), the internet TV service from telecoms giant BT, is now offering the UK’s cheapest sports TV package.

Anyone with a BT Vision subscription can now add both the Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 2 channels to their package on a month-by-month contract for just £16.99 a month - cheaper than rival digital TV providers.

Football fans will be cheering BT Vision's new prices

Or, if you’re in need of a new TV, broadband and phone bundle, you can add either channel individually for only £11.99 a month when signing up to a 12-month BT Total Broadband contract.

Gavin Patterson, chief executive of BT Retail, said: “Football fans will be cheering our new prices, which mark an end to paying for basic channels when you only want the sport.”

BT Vision has also cut the price of its “total sports package”, which now costs £6.99 a month for Sky Sports 1, ESPN and access to the on-demand sport from the BT Vision menu, or £11.99 a month for Sky Sports 1 and 2, ESPN and the on-demand sport.

The “total sports packages” are available to all customers who sign-up for a 24-month TV, broadband and phone contract with BT.

BT said the £11.99 a month sports channel bundle works out at £205 a year cheaper than satellite TV provider Sky’s current equivalent deal and £281 cheaper than the sports channel package on offer from Virgin Media.

You will be able to sign-up for these packages from today, in plenty of time to enjoy the new Premier League football season, which kicks off on August 14.

Patterson added: “We expect that entry prices as low as £6.99 will welcome in a huge number of extra customers who’d love to enjoy these channels, but thought they were too expensive.”

As well as the Barclays Premier League, Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 2 show Champions League football, test cricket and rugby union.
