BT’s digital TV service, BT Vision, now features an on-demand 24-hour shopping channel.
The new service from BT Vision (www.btvision.bt.com), Vision Shopping, is presented by TV veteran Gaby Roslin and features five on-demand shopping categories including home, sport and fitness, and DIY.
Vision Shopping is produced by TV production company Canis Media, and promises to offer customers a tailored shopping experience.
Ed Hall, CEO of Canis Media, said: “This is just the beginning of an exciting new service. BT Vision has recognised the potential for an on-demand service to complement its programming.”
The channel is available through the electronic programme guide (EPG), with customers able to buy products over the phone. The products being sold will be updated regularly by Canis Media and the platform provider Emuse.
The new service is available on channel 960 and is free for all customers with a BT Vision value pack.
Marc Watson, chief executive officer of BT Vision, said: “Our customers can browse each vision shopping department for a selection of great offers and clever gift ideas.”
Earlier this month, BT added another new on-demand channel, called Bolly and Beyond. It is now available via its Vision platform for £6.85 a month and features Asian Bollywood programmes and films.
