Eurosport is one of the world’s best-loved sports channels, and shows coverage of all kinds of different sports, including football, cycling and motorsport. So what’s the cheapest way to watch?

If you’re a sports fan who loves everything from football and cycling to Moto GP and skiing, you’ll want to get a digital TV service with access to the Eurosport channel.

Originally launched in 1989, Eurosport and its sister channel Eurosport 2 are broadcast in 20 different languages in 59 countries around the globe. So how do you get Eurosport in the UK? We show you how to get the channels at the best price…

What’s on Eurosport?

The Eurosport channel shows a variety of sports including football, tennis, alpine skiing, snooker and athletics. These events aren’t generally shown on other sports channels such as Sky Sports or ESPN.

Some of the sporting highlights featured on Eurosport include:

  • Skiing - Watch live coverage and highlights of some of the biggest cross country, alpine and slalom skiing events, as well as ski jumping.
  • Cycling - Eurosport has coverage of all of the biggest races, such as the Paris-Nice and the Tirreno-Adriatico, as well as the Olympics 2012 TT being held at Hampton Court.
  • Diving - Catch-up on all the latest from the 2011 European Diving Championships.
  • Motorsport - Fans of fast-paced motorsport can watch coverage of the World Touring Car Championship and Moto GP races.

Eurosport also shows PGA Tour golf, WTA tennis and live coverage of the Players Tour Championship.

How to watch Eurosport

If you want to watch Eurosport, you’ll need a subscription to a TV package from either Sky or Virgin Media. The prices of the packages vary, so it’s important you compare what’s available and sign-up for the cheapest deal for you.

As a Sky (www.sky.co.uk) customer you can get the Eurosport, Eurosport 2 and Eurosport HD (High-Definition) channels if you take the Sky Extra, which costs £25.00 a month. If you’re an existing Sky customer and do not currently have the Sky Extra, call 0844 241 1407 to add it to your subscription.

Customers with a cable TV service from Virgin Media (www.virginmedia.com) can watch both Eurosport 1 and Eurosport 2, at no extra cost if they subscribe to either the M+, L or XL packages. Virgin Medial TV deals start from £6.50 a month, providing you take a cable phone line.

However it is important to note that Virgin Media’s TV service is only available to households that live in an area that can receive cable TV. To find out if you do, run a postcode search using our online digital TV calculator.
