Can I get Sky Sports on BT Vision?

I get my broadband from BT and I'm thinking of adding BT Vision too - but I want to make sure I can get Sky Sports first as I'm a big Arsenal fan.

Can you help

Our digital TV expert says...

BT Vision (www.btvision.bt.com) is the digital TV service from broadband and home phone giant BT. It uses your internet connection, coupled with the Freeview signal, to deliver your TV service.

As well as the standard channels offered by Freeview, you can also add a range of TV packages and on-demand telly to make sure you never miss your favourite shows - whether that’s Doctor Who or Match of the Day.

BT Vision packages

BT Vision has slimmed down its digital TV packages into two core choices: the Value pack or a pay-as-you-go option.

If you want even more action you can add premium channels like Sky Sports

The Value pack costs £12.50 a month and includes:

  • Vision TV - A selection of US and UK TV shows, many of which aren’t available on Freeview or standard TV
  • Vision Replay - Catch-up on your favourite shows from the BBC and Channel 4
  • Vision FilmClub - Updated weekly, a library of 75 movie favourites and classics
  • Vision Kids - On-demand kids' shows from Nickelodeon, Disney, Cartoon Network and more
  • Vision Sport - Everything from TNA Wrestling and MotoGP to weekly sports shows and classic archive sports
  • Vision Music - Over 1,500 videos, including chart hits, concerts and karaoke
  • ESPN - Live sports channel featuring Premier League football, Aviva Premiership rugby and more.

As a pay-as-you-go customer you will be able to watch music, sports or children’s programmes from just 50p a show, or Vision TV and Replay catch-ups from £1.10 per show. However, Vision FilmClub and ESPN are not available.

Value pack or pay-as-you-go customers can also “rent” movies from the Vision Box Office. These are available on an on-demand pay-per-view basis from just £2.50 a movie - allowing you to watch Hollywood blockbusters when you want, with many in high-definition.

Sky Sports on BT Vision

But if you want even more action you can add premium channels like Sky Sports to your package for coverage of the Premier League, UEFA Champions League and npower Championship, plus rugby, golf and even more.

Sky Sports is available from £12.30 a month for either Sky Sports 1 or 2, or get both Sky Sports channels from £17.40 a month.

Can I get BT Vision?

There are several things you need before you can sign-up to BT Vision: a BT broadband connection and phone line and speeds of at least 2Mb to get a decent internet TV connection that won’t affect your web surfing. When you sign-up you'll get a BT Vision set-top box that will let you access the service.

It’s also import to remember that your Freeview channels and the quality of the signal you receive will still depend on your area. If your Freeview signal is poor at the moment or you can’t get it at all, switching to BT Vision won’t make a difference.
